Keeping it Simple...

Couple days ago I was chatting with a friend of mine about fashion, shoes, handbags and jewelry, As the conversation went on about Labels and none labels, this Topic came into my head to talk about. First of, anything you put together to wear is UNIQUE....now this is the Question? Unique in a good way or in a bad way. Whoever said fashion is a statement did not tell a lie, You dress how you feel, absolutely true!!!. You can only see fashion through your own eyes (this is not an excuse for those who just like to look an utter mess oh!!!) I would put together a list of my favorites both from Western down to our own very Ankara and natives.
I will start with my favorite..No matter how style challenged you are, i believe you cannot go wrong in a pair of jeans and tee shirt...well i hope not!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the  boyfriend style jeans, I mean for some of us who are not exactly skinny or have a body shaped like "an Agbani Darego" these pair are the most comfortable and stylish thing to throw on and regardless of your body shape and size they are stylish!!, you can dress it up or dress it down depending on your mood...
Halle shows a perfect example of a day in the park with her girl in her bf jeans. She still looked fab and very glam in her outfit, no questions asked!! Its better to play it safe than be sorry, doing a little is always better than over doing it.
Now, say you are going to the movies, club or even a date, you can still rock a tee shirt and jeans but then  throw on a pair of heels like:
She has taken this outfit to a whole new level just with the heels she had on. Half of the time we do not short skimpy dresses, or shorts or mini skirts to make a statement or to stand out. "If i were a boy"....i will take a first look at her before looking @ your undersized dress with your lace front hair... LOL yeah! i know i just had to throw it in somehow!!!!!!!

RED CARPET HOWLERS!!!!!!!!

I have gone through so many red carpet event pictures, watched a lot on TV and We have been on some ourselves *wink*...ya whatever!!! but the most red carpet that stands out is the Nigerian Red Carpet Events. Its amazing the things you see on there, I have come to a conclusion that many participants or guest or award recipients are not well informed on what kind of occasion they are attending...YES I am giving them the benefit of the doubt because there are so many blunders on the red carpet with different participants that makes me blame the event planners...
So Younotry has decided to come in as an intervention and show people what is NOT acceptable at a red carpet event, This is totally our point of view, we don't need to be agreed with, Pictures don't lie...

Red Carpet or Pajama Jam?
Dare " u re not the guy i used to know", He is ALWAYS on point but we think this outfit is a NO-NO, the blouse/ turtle neck is definitely not working on those pants, yes, turn up pants are in style but this particular pants are way too turned up for its liking. His shoes are mad no doubt but they are so not working on those jeans!! come on!! For a whole MTV music award???? This is not acceptable! Plus why is he wearing his watch on the shirt sleeve??
Her name is Goldie and she is sticking to it. This outfit eh...there is no way of addressing it. It is just WRONG, period!!! Reminds me of my high school bed spread. And is she wearing just one sock on her leg? this makes us think if this was red carpet event or a gala at the Roman Colosseum?
Aunty Sasha, where do we even begin...the hair?, the red bra?, the skirt? the shoes are definitely UNTOUCHABLE, I refuse to talk about the mirror you are wearing on your legs, how does that even tie  this outfit please?? as in we are just confused!! Funny thing is She received an award for "Best dressed female rapper". Makes me wonder who votes for these awards.  #younojusttry abeg!! this is outfit is horrendous honestly..
Cape Lady
Now how can you even talk about this outfit without being mean? I mean, SERIOUSLY???? This is when I am convinced that these people are in the wrong event. How in the world can you wear a "Super-Hero" outfit to an award show?? WHY WHY WHY WHY?? what is this cape on the dress? At this point you wonder what she saw in the mirror before walking out of her house, 2nd question is did someone actually let her walk out of the house looking like a HOT MESS CAPE LADY!! hiss!!

This one is just totally confused but unlike cape woman she played safe but a little bit too safe, I mean come on...How do you wear this to a red carpet event, if you are going to the movies, maybe, JUST MAYBE I can understand but for an event its a total NEGATIVE!!...if you ask us, YouNotry!!!!!!

Banky W...as they call him "Naija Craig David" You have a thing or two to learn from the gentleman on the left, This outfit is NOT acceptable especially when you won "best dressed male artist" on this night. You can sing your heart out but bro!! are you for real with whats on your leg...sketchers, trainers, runners abi shoes??? for real? Uncle Younotry at all!!!! You should know better than this.

Omo, this one na real flower girl...maybe she was told she is going to La-la Land, land of colors, flowers and patterns. You shouldn't even own something that looked like this PERIOD, award show or no award show..only thing I have to say about this is Loose this dress please...if you insist to own it still, turn into a night wear and hope you don't scare your bed mate.
Anyone remember HOT CASH? Willie-Wille
Of course you know we had to save the best for  last...I have no words for the lady above but DAMN!! The hair, the dresses, the necklace the shoes, I mean the whole 9yards...At this point I will let the picture speak for itself...I am very positive that anyone reading this is thinking what I am thinking......YOUNOTRY!!!!

PS: This is intended to humor you..I have only tried to explain what they were trying to tell us from their outfits, the pictures are real and the events are real...if you have a problem with this....remember this is a fashion police blog...#gohugtransformer or better still #knockhead4wall !!!!! lol

"Lace Frontitis" The Epidemic affecting black women!

a
Eddie Munster!!!!!!!, real famous for his hair line back in the 80's. I always wondered why these Ladies have subjected themselves to such an embarrassment of taking so much resemblance to Eddie. Whats more painful to come to terms with is the FACT that these lace front hairlines start from the eyebrow.
There is no human being walking the face of the earth whose hairline is so perfect, well besides this person:
                                        "
And SHE!!!

Kelly is def a repeat offender.....I mean check out the hairline and the glue manifestation:

Aunty Kelly, YouNoTry, what in the name of Weave is going on with your hairline? Where is you part? Where is the Natural hair line or at least where is the "natural looking baby hairline"? I am not even going to mention i can see the glue on your forehead or that i can see where the lace front starts from.
I have seen crocked hairlines and badly "over emphasized baby hairlines but this here is the height of it all :
This has to be the most ridiculous looking baby hair I have seen in a long time,  plus check out the back side!!!! Aunty mi, YouNoTry at all. LOL

YouNoTry lace wig favorite has to go Aunty Brandy:

Can we say HOT MESS!! Aunty this  lace front is killing us softly. It just made me think planet of the apes ! Her make-up was nice but them brows was a lil extra. I cut for Brandy sha, I’ve been a fan for many years, but if I was in her crew I would not let my homie roll like that ! I’m just saying :)

And ofcourse!!! to our drama queen, queen of pop, Beyonce, whom should pretty much take the blame for the invention of this EPIDEMIC....
                                         PAINFUL, huh?
I seriously want to believe the stress on her head is from the hitting that high note better not be glue application gone wild..

Partner in crime comes along and kills it....

Seriously, I blame Tyra & Beyonce for this lace front wig epidemic. Tyra & Beyonce have definitely had their fair share of lace front mishaps, but for the most part, Beyonce has always kept her lace fronts ‘natural’ looking (well as natural as you can get wearing hair that has been sewn onto a piece of lace and then super glued to your forehead). If you’re seriously going to venture out and attempt to wear a lace front, at least make sure you’re not walking around looking like Eddie Munster’s twin sister.

It is pretty obvious at who takes this award home....
You no try at all!!!
